Temple Structure and Architecture

New Sharda Temple in Kupwara

In 2023, a replica of the Sharda Peeth temple was inaugurated in Teetwal, Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, near the Line of Control. This initiative aims to honor the historical and spiritual significance of Sharda Peeth for Kashmiri Hindus who cannot visit the original site.

The new temple, constructed with modern techniques but retaining traditional architectural elements, has become a center of devotion and cultural activity. It serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the shared heritage of Kashmiri culture.

By reviving the worship of Goddess Sharda in this region, the temple has reignited the spiritual connection of devotees with their sacred past, symbolizing resilience and the enduring legacy of Sharda Peeth.
